Recently, the Milken Institute, a well-known independent economic think tank in the United States, announced2016 "China's Best Performing Cities" index, and released the "China's Best Performing Cities" ranking。Taiyuan ranked 26th in the large cities group, jumping seven places from the previous year's list。
A total of 260 cities were studied for the "Best Performing Cities in China" index。It is divided into two groups: the large city group includes 33 first - and second-tier cities, and the small - and medium-sized city group includes 227 third-tier cities。Guiyang, Shanghai and Tianjin rank the top three in the large city group。In the group of small and medium-sized cities, the remaining 10 cities in our province are among the cities studied by this index, and the top 10 cities Jinzhong, Jincheng and Changzhi ranked 171, 185 and 189 respectively。
China's best-performing Cities index consists of nine components。Indicators include short-term (one year) and medium-term (five years) measures: one year (one year)Employment growth between 2013-2014) and five years (2009-2014), wage growth between one and five years, Gross regional product (GRP) growth between one and five years, foreign direct investment (FDI) growth between three years (2011-2014), share of FDI and GRP in 2014，And the location quotient of high value-added industries in 2014。
